QUICK FACTS

Located at the Mediterranean Sea, it is the third largest city in the country. It is a combination of history and modernity. The city has a rich cultural, artistic and architectural heritage and together with around 15km of beach it is the perfect location for any kind of event.

 

Next to the historic city centre and the beach, the city is also very well-known for its beautiful architecture and enormous park in the former river Turia. The City of Arts and Sciences (in Spanish ‘La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias’ is one of the most popular sights with its futuristic buildings.

Valencia is also the natal place of the famous dish paella. With its rice fields in the Nature Park Albufera just at 10km from the city, Valencia offers the best Paellas!

MUST-SEES

The City of Art and Science, in Spanish Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciencias, is a city in a city. In total there are six buildings of which five were designed by the Valencian Santiago Calatrava. Here you can find everything about art, science and architecture. Every building serves for a different purpose, there is a museum, a cinema, a night club, an opera building and the largest aquarium of Europe.

 

The neighbourhood ‘El Carmen’ is also definitely worth a visit. It is the oldest part of the city centre with amazing sights. It is a cosy area with small streets full of nice little bars, terraces and restaurants. You will also be able to find the two old city gates, which you are able to visit and enjoy amazing views. This area also includes some incredible squares with magnificent churches and not to forget Europe´s largest food market.

TRIP-TIPS

With splendid temperatures, especially in the spring and autumn, Valencia makes the perfect location for water activities at the beach.

 

For those not afraid of the sea and who like a bit of healthy competition a sailing regatta is definitely recommended. This activity can be done in groups and is an exciting experience.

 

If it is your first time that is totally fine because no experience is needed, the group will be accompanied by professional skippers during the whole activity. They give the group instructions and teach you all about the basics that you will need.

Trying the Valencian paella is an absolute must, since this delicious dish was founded right here! A trip by boat to the rice fields in Albufera will amaze you!
